This paper describes the parameters that need to be considered while taking decisions to select cutoff grade (COG) to mine a deposit with the application of underground mining methods. The study is based on the analysis work carried out using the necessary data obtained from the copper mining complexes. First it examines the input parameters in the calculation of cutoff grades. Influence of factors such as stoping methods, orebody thickness, degree of mechanization and productivity on cutoff grades has been examined thereafter.
